This run will show off some of the cool stuff I've found while running in Pittsburgh. With imposing development, I'm not sure how much longer this route will be around, so time to make it happen!
If you ran it in 2020, wow, remember the first few months of 2020? The route will be very similar, but with some new surprises. If not, take a look here for an idea of what you're getting into.
This is a Fat Ass style event. Nothing is official, but it'll be timed. If you want to run fast - there's a prize for first place and one for the runner closest to a 12 min/mile average, because that is the best running pace. Maybe there will be more awards, maybe I'll post the results. If you want to run casual - there's some cool trails to check out and some unique views. We'll have at least one aid station, because those are fun.
The course will be marked as best as I can get it and you'll get a map with directions. Everyone who signs up and finishes will get a medal (do not expect much), because those are fun too.
It's a decent challenge, but the route is great for anyone on the fence about running a longer trail race. You're not spending any money, you don't have to drive 3+ hours to bear country, the start is where the finish is, and you can just call a ride if you get tired and want to quit. It's a Fat Ass run, you can do whatever you want. You can run around the block and drink an Iron City with me waiting for runners to finish.
